I think of it like dead/titlescreen/credits/gameover/ending/inputyourname screen/recordshighscores for a shmup. (not to mentioned I imagined myself looking at the sun...from the space...from a starship (thanks!))

Fell in love with it from the start. This isn't really "dead" or even "shmup" so much as "space exploration".
One of the best tunes this compo, easily.

yea i can see it being a little later in the sequence of screens after dead... like maybe the continue screen

it is a cool track, but not much as far as fitting the theme, i envision this as perhaps an introductory storyline before the game. also i think it drew out a little long without enough solid variation, and i base that on the feel of this track, as opposed to any algorithmic characteristic of the theme in question. with that aside i do like this track, i think the tune is very cool.
