I like the pitch bending down thing at the very beginning... reminds me of an Earthworm Jim song.

The Mp3 sounds quite different with my crappy sound card than the actual midi-file... I've usually kinda looked down on midis, but this definetely made my head turn... The bass sounds are pretty sweet.

Warlord, that mp3 is against the rules(edit: everything is ok now, sorry), the crappy sound you get out of your soundcard is like it should sound in the rules. ;)

the sb wavetable is very close to the Xp softwarewavetable, both sounds very identical....ok the Sb is a little bit better ;-))

@ IRC i can try this weekend to join, but the reasons that i dont like it much is, my translation german english is very slow an bad...here i have much time to reading, thinking and translating ^^ btw. is here a homepage IRC chat installed ??? i dont want to install any IRC software for this.

ah and strobe, i hope you know that my comment about " hateing you m8" is only for joking and not the reasons why you want to talk to me oO ??

Explanation accepted. entry is then close too genuine
Software Wavetable synth, the biggest difference would be that the bass sound is a total another sound on the SB table, probably thats why the MP3 sounds better than the MIDI for users that uses the Software table.

Case closed , have a nice day! :)

Ok, just was confused as it sounded really different between the mp3 and the .mid. Everything's good now, maybe next compo should explicitly allow the SB wavetable too.

So, for voting on this track, use the MP3, not the MIDI file if you play it with Microsoft Software synth :P

1. the base at the beginning sounds very very identical, i create this file based on the XP wavetable, i can make a wave-file of the midi, then you can hear it !

2. make sure that you FIRST switch to the XP wavetable, and then start the MIDI file, in the first blocks of the midifile are the instrument and enviroment settings like witch instrument using for cannel 4 (i.e.), cutoff filters, resonance filters etc..

if you start the midifile not at the beginning, you will have only wrong instrument allocation , like pianos and trumpets ;-P !!!!!

EDIT: Ok strobe you are right....damn now i know what you mean with the baseline ...rofl sounds very crank, i have tested it on a other PC :-(( damn !

almost as long as my gb entry :o

very atmospheric, it really does tell a story.

i think the mp3 is ok, cos the midi can be played on whoevers sound card, i dont think its a big deal.
