This was a little test of the Yamaha PSS-680 (12 voice, 2-op FM) and it's multitimbral capabilities. This is one take of a single instance of the PSS-680, including the PCM drums, so it's an all in one music workstation! Composed and sequenced using Ableton Live with a some what randomly generated progression.

EDIT: Extended! and better mixing!

Holy macaroni! It's impossible for me to be objective here.

I grew up with a mother effing PSS-680.

If I'm here at BoTB it's thanks to the PSS-680 I had as a teenager.

Almost everything I know about harmony and composing is thanks to the PSS-680.

And the first time I used a sequencer and composed a MIDI, it was for the PSS-680 (well, almost, I had made some before for the SoundBlaster and my first sequencer was, indeed, Mario Paint).

I could recognize those PCM drums from miles away. Aaaah, and that cuica <3. And the built-in reverb effect.

I'm about to cry.

Thanks, Cessor.
