gosh this is so nice; glitched and liminal and surreal but so very warm and evocative and tranquil
Well, Santa wanted to play Russian roulette because he'd just finished 3D printing some fancy new gun at his elvish workshop that was supposed to be able to discern the very essence of your moral fiber. Y'know, spares you if you're good, kills you if you're evil, that kind of thing.
It all sounded like a game until you were holding this otherworldly, sci-fi looking contraption right up to your temple and contemplating all you'd encountered throughout your life, and how you'd responded. You tried reeeeally hard to pack away the time you snatched the last loaf of bread at the grocery in front of an elderly lady, and the Twitter botnet you'd devoted to sending the words "deez nuts" to every politician, local and national, in the United States... every half hour. Did it really have to be every half hour? You've taken care of your friends and family over the years though, right?
Scenes cross through your memory unabated until Santa beckons you seal your fate.

Advent Diary Day 6:
i had no idea about anything related to this format before (and had never used deflemask before, lol), so this was really fun to learn about... manipulation of samples is pretty severely limited, but the panning control (L/R both have values 0-F) lets you essentially do volume control as well, and being able to switch sample banks (12 samples to 1 bank) means you can comfortably load in copies of wavs that have been pitch shifted. but yeah.. six sample channels without length restrictions? i was here for that and would do it again.
a fun fact about this memory-themed entry is that most of these samples are unused scraps from past abandoned projects. (the only exceptions are the guitar and drumloop which are from Sample Pack Contests 8 and 16 respectively)
