so glad you managed to get something done for this and it's one of my favourite lyrical offerings of yours to date!!
Look down from your mountain
where the Bitterroots meet the Tetons,
or was it Olympus?
You can contract a witness
Upon gilded pages he'll finish his law degree
on the weekends
But you're holding a trumpet
Pronouncing your judgment
The path may be trodden
it may even be well worn
But don't let that stop you
I wouldn't want to stop you
From throwing your bolts down
to some drab little farm town
where the people don't suspect it
before they can reject it
After all, what's the power of a god unaccepted?
These marble hallways
are all decorated
with shame that's curated
till these gods are all sated
Below I'm standing still with a look on my face
looking up into space
Got the forms all filled out and I'm ready for something else
So, is it time now to throw down your storm cloud?
I wonder if Zeus ever had any second thoughts?
Did he turn his great face away?
from his own turning storm
Or was he somehow like me,
just trying to make sense of it all
just trying to slowly walk away
did he say it was just a phase?
