bruh what a fkn journey

there's so many things going on, it's like a movie and that's INCREDIBLE! this turned out absolutely amazing, definitely my new favorite from you!

im not sure if i like it or if i like the length of it. the main melody is cute af and there is definitely some cool stuff going on from time to time, but i realized i lost interest halfway through. maybe its the structure and kinda random parts added after another that dont feel complete enough for me to really build a full piece. it feels more like a demo to me "look what i can do with famitracker".
its technically impressive tho - looking at the tracker grid is a lot of fun because i can see how familar you are with 0cc-ft and the soundchip(s)

This track, by its design, is meant to feel "random" in some regard; a variety of styles captured while it constantly references motifs expressed earlier in the track (as well as from previous tracks I made) to keep things coherent. Originally I intended on making this entry sound purely like the first section before transitioning into the final rock section, with no middle body to explore. I'm glad I decided to change my vision, though.

I took this entry in whatever direction I could think, and I committed to the ideas I laid down and tried my best to tie them together. I didn't want to spend too much time in one section, or put any more energy into the transitions. Perhaps that's why it feels more like a demo reel, but I'm determined to experiment more and change the way I think about composing music.

OMG. This must have taken a s***-ton of work. And it's MMC5 only, that's impressive. Too bad it didn't make it into NSF+, but that doesn't make the song less good.

Oh, those chord progressions, they're the very definition of "magical".

Boy was this fun! It's long, but it doesn't drag. It's almost a prog sequence but the transitions feel too abrupt between sections... like I'm some expert, what do I know, I'm just talking from the wrong hole! It's hard to fault this. I think smooth transitions between sections would be icing on the cake. But you baked a wonderful, lovely cake.

came back to this and even tho i still agree with my 2020-self, i must admit that this melody will never leave my head completely and always re-appears from time to time.
