Serrated Blade 2: Slice of Death (1986) (Rated R)

Kurt Rupteur reprises his role as the incorrigible Shank Slitbludgeon in this sequel to the 1984 box-office smash.
Written and directed by Academy Award winner Martin Smorcheesi, Serrated Blade 2: Slice of Death serves up more of the same cutlery-fueled bloodshed that filleted the hearts of moviegoers the first time, while offering a bit more to chew on as it plunges deeper into the hearts of its characters. Thankfully, the opening title sequence is much more pared-down this time around, cutting right to the action. I also appreciated the snippy dialogue between Shank Slitbludgeon and his sharp-witted co-star, exotic knife collector Dag Scabbard (played by Sheen Hackman).
The film's soundtrack, scored by Hollywood newcomer Moot Booxlé, is quite a tour-de-force as it rips through the speakers with some of the most cutting-edge sonics I've heard this year.
If you're a fan of razor-sharp action, you must see this film.

-Harvey Punguy, New York Boast

NOTES: Ironically, I used mostly virtual instruments for this piece. All recorded in Apple Logic.
FM synth is Logic EFM1.
Other sounds are ancient E-mu and Amiga samples programmed in EXS24.
Electronic drums are Simmons SDS-5.
Acoustic drums are from EXS24. Did my best Phil Collins impersonation.
Guitar is Musicvox Strataspear played through a Seymour Duncan Twin Tube overdrive into a vintage National amp.
Grab some popcorn and enjoy the film!

Here's a version I mastered to cassette tape, for that extra authentic 80s sound:

(I would have submitted this version, but I think it lacks the impact of the digitally-mastered version.)

That chord sequence around 0m55s was very Tony Thai-esque.

This is fantastic. Could very well have been in a real 80's movie.
