A musical story in 3 parts
1. Antero Vipunen
0:00 - A leper stands before the ancient tower. Many have sought apprenticeship, but none who are tested ever return.
0:30 - Vipunen sings down to the leper, "If you wish to learn under me, follow the others below", and the iron door to Tartarus opens. The leper hesitates, then enters.
2. Tuonela
1:02 - The door to the world above is sealed shut; absolute blackness engulfs everything.
1:39 - Forced to crawl on hands and knees in the dark, the leper creeps about, struggling to survive, blinded eyes searching hungrily for light.
1:55 - Darkness begins to devour time itself, the leper is slowly driven mad by gnawing hunger, cold, and continual hallucination.
2:16 - Each sense fades to numbness, until at last a perfect deathly stillness falls over the leper, and the jaded eyes finally abandon their hunt.
2:35 - The haltija of all things begin to emerge. Now aware of them as they whisper their deep truths, the leper rouses in wonder, beholding the väki as they are, and conversing with them as with an intimate friend.
2:55 - True sight reveals the door out of the underworld; it was always very near.
3. Nähdä Läpi Kantele
3:17 - Emergence into sunlit forest in an unknown land. The apprentice is lost, and sits on a stump at a crossroads to think on how to return to his master.
3:40 - Metsan väki bring food, and the apprentice eats. They speak of the changeable ways of things and the ways of things that cannot change.
4:22 - Puun väki bring a kantele, and the apprentice plays. The music draws all the hidden ones out to hear. Each teaches a fractal lesson with endless layers of meaning.
5:21 - Understanding dawns on the apprentice at last. Already there is nothing more Vipunen can teach them. None who are tested ever return.
