Lente Concerto for Chiptichord

A live improvisation performed on a computer keyboard, using the SNES's SPC700 soundchip as an instrument through C700. Not sure if it's actually hardware playable, because the slow ADSR envelope might have made more than 8 notes play at once.

Features a custom harpsichord sample shaped by slow ADSR and subtle modulation. I'm going to pretend it's baroque because it makes me feel fancy.

oh also, I realized major scales exist.

I was wondering how long before folks might try liveplaying right on their keyboard! Very cool to see an entry take a different approach to the means of input; feel like it can encourage others who don't have access to an instrument or setup for more common methods of liveplay.

Musically, a lovely early morning. I can hardly keep my eyes open, such is the magnitude of peace around me.

@haberchuck Thanks! I actually have several instruments lying around. I was debating playing my bass and drums, or using LSDJ live but decided on this for a couple reasons:

1. my main reason for arguing against this format was accessibility, so I decided to try and compete as accessibly as possible

2. I don't have a harpsichord lying around

3. I like the SNES

very pretty, and computer keyboard is a cool way to tackle the format 8)

it should be hardware playable as long as you have the engine set to "accurate" mode. switching to "relaxed" ticks the polyphony up to 16, but otherwise it cuts off release tails when it needs to.
