Elf Run! The game where you are an elf, that runs! Santa has sent you out to get donuts to keep the workshop operating. How many can you collect? The north pole is full of hazards, however...
I can't believe this game sold more copies than Super Mario Bros 3! They even made a holiday movie about it starring Arnold Schwarzenegger where he's beating up people to get a copy of it for his kid for Christmas. Pretty sure it was like 95% on rotten tomatoes.

Big disclaimer: I took the easy route, and much of the code was borrowed for the sidescrolling elements (and the cool cloud effect, I didn't touch that at all ), I added maybe 70 lines of code. All the art, music, and fx were mine as well as a some extra functions. I modified much of the copied code for my purposes, and broke everything several times before I got it working again. I introduced some weird bugs too!

I should've been more clear! With the rage mode, you do a headbutt for a few seconds and can go charging through the ice mounds. (Walruses will still kill you though). Also, breaking ice and collecting donuts give you extra points.

my playthroughs went a lot better when i realised i could shorten the jump sequence by pressing the down arrow!
