Tools o' de trade: Schism Tracker for the backing track, Reason 7 for mixing and vocal fuckery, and a microphone for things that require use of a microphone such as words and singing. Also STSPEECH, because STSPEECH.

Named after Steve Krug's excellent book on usability, "Don't Make Me Think," which I'd wager ought to be required reading for anyone in the software business. Since blatant shameless plugs are fun, have a link:

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go give RoboTim a new voice synthesizer so he can speak in 44khz and let us use less shit vocoding next time around. :V

[EDIT] Reuploaded on 3/24/2014 with slightly better mixing. Still not perfect, but probably adequate -- the vocals are actually audible this time around. ;)

Yeah, maybe not a better permutation than raphaelgoulart's, but he didn't make a backing track like yours, wich I like because has much more different parts and it's more appealing for me, and the vocals still freaking good. I don't think there's a point between comparing anyways.

Heh, I guess I'm being overly self-conscious about being derivative of raphael since I totally was in Detroit IX. With permission, mind you, but still... :P

As a public note, I might try my hand at improving the mixing a bit and resubmitting, but I'm not sure if I'll have the time. Figure it's best to submit a rough build than nothing at all, so here you go.

I wouldn't mind at all if this get a better score / ranking than my song on this compo, I love this! Your style is pretty good, I wonder how I didn't knew you before BotB...

Thanks for the compliments, folks! Still a bit of a newcomer to things, I feel like -- I've been tracking for ~10ish years now, but I was never involved in the demoscene or any sort o' community (just quietly submitting things to Modarchive), so it's really no surprise I'm an obscure dude. :P

While I'm here, I figure I'll share the base .it I used for the backing track. The original version actually had rough vocal placement in the .it itself, but that swelled up the filesize to ~9megs and I redid that part in Reason anyway, so it's rather moot (without the booxle). :P
