first time exploring multi-chip capabilities in a full song capacity, it was really really fun.. no having to think about channel economy (which is also fun in its own way) but sooo much creative freedom

we got:
1. YM2151 - noisy mallet ostinato, bass, buzzy swell sound, some extra metallic percussion sounds
2. Sega PCM 5ch - TR-808 drumkit
3. YM2608 (PC-9801 chip) - "clean electric guitar", aux drums, square blips and noise
4. HuC6280 (PC-Engine/TG16 chip) - sampling: live recorded parts from Roli Lumi, rendered "guitar" distortion, field recording

partway through writing this i had the realization that there was a resemblance to Jon Hopkins' "Luminous Beings" in the middle section, which was not deliberate but that is one of my favorite songs and definitely a big inspiration so check that one out if you dig this

"furnace PCE" really is one of my favorite samplers lol... so delightfully fuzzy

As always, wonderful attention to the small details that make the song a notch above!

The steady fuzz throughout was a pleasant additive (will have to try that PCE sample channel sometime!) and, not reading the description beforehand, the use of the 808s were a nice (for me) hip-hop-flavored surprise. Nice work!

just the mere idea of having to organise all those chips all at once in furnace makes me nauseous. i can only imagine that it required a lot of patience

I'm about two minutes in right now. Impression: This is that part of the song to sway to, to relax in sunlight to and embrace the songs of nature. The timbres of the chips add to the atmosphere of the whole thing, and the samples glue it to the magical nature surrounding your ears.

It just turned into a soft bop, now it's a speedy lake ride.

The beat has stopped. We've parked next to a beautiful waterfall. There's a Great Blue Heron.

The beat is back. Picnic! Meeting new friends, frolicking around in the grass.

5:35 The sun is setting, the stars come out, though not a lot of them. Everyone goes home.
