last month i did a game jam with friends (ludum dare 55, theme 'summoning') and we made a cute puzzle bobble-esque imp shooting game, Butler! Summon the Imps! we have been working on a post-jam update with a ton of new content, fixes and upgrades! among them a fourth chapter, megaman-esque credits with names for all the guys, and a whole-ass level editor! though the update isn't live at the time of me posting this, it should be within a few days; we might have arrived at the final test build now : ) i'll leave a comment here.
this is the level editor theme, the only unreleased track (all the rest were made in the 72 hours of game jamming, and i'll add it to the soundtrack soon). gameboy (lsdj) + organ! the whole soundtrack is gameboy chiptune with some instrumental accompaniment on each song (harpsichord, pipe organ, marimba, accordion, bandoneon...). give it a playthrough if you've got some time, whether it's the jam version or the full version that may in fact already be live by the time you read this...

I love the long attack on the chip lead, not something I often hear but it works really well here!
All the little glitchy blips add great color.
I think I somewhat prefer the chip melody sections to the organ melody sections, but maybe that's just my chipist bias...

i enjoyed this entry so much i listened to the rest of the soundtrack - it reminded me a bit of the link's awakening remake OST - not in the musical style, but there was the same concept of pairing classical instruments with the chip to form a sort of hybrid chamber ensemble.

This feels very Tobokegao-like! Classic chiptune sounds, but with some sort of fun wrinkle — in this case, a real organ. Delightfully fun!
