It does indeed have a JRPG feel to it, but also maybe some kind of Sierra adventure game, like Quest for Glory. Super atmospheric!

something about the piano hits combined with the melody's rhythm made it unclear where the downbeat is supposed to be for a while. maybe i'm just dumb though.
