Can't find a proper way to get this song to play using in_vgm (v0.40.3) and having XMP-GME both as plugins with XMPlay. File priorities settings do nothing. In order to play this XMP-GME must be renamed *.dl_ or deleted. :/ I'm talking to Ian at XMPlay to try to find better ways to fix XMPlay file priority issues for those of us that like XMPlay.

Do you also have zlib.dll in the same folder as the in_vgm.dll?
if not, try that. it MIGHT work.

omg Strobe you're track breaks the memory banks of not only the TurboGrafx16 but also the emulators -- .vgm is a mess

The samples didn't play on vgmplay v0.40.2, so I updated to v0.40.3 and it did play properly!

Either way it makes me curious if the .hes actually does work!

To be really fair, i did everything i could to blatantly abuse the format to the breaking point, just because i could. If it works as .HES i have no idea, but i did everything according to the specifications and rules of the audiochip, so according to me, it should work. But since i have no real means of testing it on hardware or emulator, i can't say for 100% sure just yet.

The VGM format was not intended to be played on the real hardware.

This track COULD be played on a PCEngine with a proper player routine. I mean the VGM is a 1mb raw registers writes, ok, so?, a .hes file generated with a player routine will fit easily on the PCEngine's RAM.

I'm working on this for Defle, PCEngine is the unique system without a ROM builder (sadly I dont have a PCEngine to make some needed tests)

HuCards were known to have no more than 2.5MB on them. That's a pretty good limitation.
