past all the monuments
to find the right place, the perfect place
(r.i.p. the other place, the other tree,
replaced by a subway station)
in the middle of history
underneath pink blooms
in the warm sun
(wear a hat)
the best time, the perfect time
(on a lunch break)
to read a comic in French
as long as nobody's shooting wedding photos
as long as no one's taking pictures of their child
as long as the petals are still there
then, blessed ritual:

minutes
expand
if all else fails
cut down the cherry tree
walk back two blocks
sit under apple blossoms
a few weeks more

uma manhã tranquila e sossegada de domingo
os pássaros parecem quietos
não piam
não voam entre as árvores
apesar do céu nublado
e das flores que começam a aparecer
os cães dos vizinhos começam a latir
a conversar uns com os outros
se calhar admirados com o silêncio dos pássaros
que não é habitual num dia de primavera
tempos diferentes
com clima imprevisível
que até os pássaros e os cães
não conseguem perceber o que se passa
