The sun shining through the palm tree is pretty.
The Thader River, as it was known to the Romans in the Iberian Peninsula, later called the Segura River, is one of the most dangerous rivers in Europe during the rainy season. Its waters, normally calm, can quickly rise in level, causing serious floods that have historically affected the surrounding regions. Despite this, the river remains a vital resource for agriculture and local communities, shaping the landscape and economy of southeastern Spain.
Along its course through my city, the river is accompanied by varied vegetation, including reeds, willows, oleanders and poplars, as well as palm trees and other Mediterranean plants that thrive in its fertile surroundings.
