i got rabi-ribi vibes i like it
Made in Furnace Tracker 0.6.8.3
Chip used: SPC700
This track is inspired by Super Aleste, Casiopea, Lamp (a little bit), Jeremy Smith (Up All Night), and Evil Pilotwing by Illum.
I think this is my most experimental song so far. I used new techniques, tried a different rhythm (I think? xd), and also worked with a new chip that isn't from the NES. It was a lot of fun.
I composed the song imagining that it could be played in a level of a shoot 'em up game like Super Aleste (in fact, I took most, if not all, of the instruments used in this song from that game [thanks @icrawfish]), although when I showed it to some friends, they told me that it evoked other things like night cities, casinos, etc. Despite that, I still named it "Anomaly in a Greenish Nebulosa" As a tribute to Super Aleste.
While making the song, I was a little worried that I might have accidentally copied another song, because I know a lot of songs that have a similar structure to the one I composed, but even so, I had a lot of fun composing with the SNES chip, since it's a console I love very much, and I hope to continue composing on this wonderful console :D
In the segment that starts at 1:30, I tried to apply a technique that my brother explained to me (but I forgot the name of the technique lol), which appears a lot in songs by Lamp and Casiopea, in which they make sudden changes in the chord progression. I've always liked that technique and I'd like to research it more thoroughly so I can apply it better next time.
As for the end of the song, I'm not sure I'm entirely convinced. I did it rather quickly because there wasn't much time left to compete. I didn't have time to configure the echo and panning, which was something I wanted to try for the first time, but oh well, maybe in another song :).
If you find anything strange in the song, please let me know so I can continue to improve. Thanks for listening :D
