A jab at myself for making the same kind of music over and over. Never featured my own voice in an entry, I don't think, so seemed like an ideal opportunity.
For the narratively indifferent and adverse (kleeder), music starts at 1:46ish.

Made originally in Furnace (2x OPM, SN7, Sega PCM) and then moved to Renoise to mix and integrate the spoken parts, which were made on a different setup that uses an ancient version of Cubase.
I'm not super sold on my mix, but time constraints have rendered my acceptance of the end product. I love the FM grit, but wanted to try to bring in the lingering "fog" of wide reverb and stereo expansion. Want to come back to it for sure and mix more carefully; definitely a weak point for myself.

A fair question: I guess the thought was that it would sound like every other song I write on Furnace, so I went with added effects just in attempt to change the dynamics a bit. Admittedly might have been heavy-handed with it.

this was the first thing i listened to this morning and it put me in a good mood lol. i was smiling throughout the whole vocal part, delightfully tongue-in-cheek
i wasn't bothered by the 'verb here, but it is true that a little can go a long way... keeping it on only one (or so) part, EQing away the low frequencies, or even just dialing back the wet. "fm with reverb" remains a sound worth exploring, keep honing it!

I dialed back the wet mix on the bass a bit to (try to) avoid having too much low-end "warble" in the mix. Probably needed some more touch-ups though, as I mentioned.
I'm open to more pointers on mixing techniques if somebody thinks there's a play on this that would really work well (though I also just appreciate everybody listening as well).

this feels calm but also grim and moody at the same time. idk how to compare this feeling though, although i will say it definitively gives me oldskool hip hop vibes which i really like.
this song feels like an interesting twist of your usual chill songwritting, using it to convey a different feeling altogether. it shows how versatile that kind of style can be while still being recognisable. this song is also just a banger :3
