@kfaraday I do eat healthy! I made up my mind a couple of months ago to get healthy, and cut out all wheat and dairy, dramatically reduced my sugar and caffeine intake, eat more natural/raw foods, etc.
It's no secret that I've had a lot of health problems through most of my life...this is just the latest. I'm on the road to recovery though.
This is what happened >
This is not the first time this has happened to me; I had this happen 3 times about 5 years ago, but this is the only time that it hasn't gone away fairly quickly.
Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia triggered by extreme hypoglycemia and hypothyroidism. I hadn't slept well the night before, and it had been too long since I'd eaten. I was at my friend's house, and bent down to pick up my shoes from the floor. When I stood up, my heart rate instantly went crazy. I tried to eat some high protein/sugary food, but it was too late. There was nothing we could do to get my blood pressure to come up, so she took me to hospital where they didn't waste any time treating me. I looked like a ghost, and was having trouble walking or talking. It felt like there was an elephant standing on my chest.
Within 5 minutes of the adenosine, I was back. It feels really weird when your heart stops...it's like riding one of those Tower of Terror rides where it picks you up and drops you. Like extreme G-force. The doctor told me that if we'd waited any longer I would have had a heart attack.
Apparently this is actually a quite common condition. All I know is, I don't want it to happen again.
Very thankful to still be alive! I have way too much music left to share with the world...
