A Sandy Sandstorm of the Century

  11th/14   Σ23.293   Oct 31st 2012 6:37pm

Hello, all! My production was hampered due to a power outage from a hurricane... specifically Hurricane Sandy. So this track is a real sandy sandstorm of sorts. Here's how I fooled around with the three samples (the saw wave might not be too recognizable when you apply lots and lots of distortion... believe me, you can get a square wave by doing that!):

an apache break:
- I didn't do a thing to this sample other than perhaps a pitch adjustment. I did use sample offset at least once, but other than that, nothing.

The titular sample (read the compo title and take the last two words to get the sample name... it's kind of a tambourine-like sound, the way my ears interpret it):
- Took out everything except for the very beginning (apparently monitor noise), then normalized and ping-pong looped the sample. Note that when I mean the very beginning, it's before any of the tambourinie-like sounds start playing.

Saw Wave:
- Added 400% distortion.
- Added another 400%.
- Added another 400%. You now have a square wave. Hey, this compo takes extreme manipulation, right? Why not add extreme distortion to one sample? ^_^
