depends on the tool you use.

my idea was that you choose one sound generation thing, let it be acoustic or electronic, and then try to manipulate its output to make some cool shit

if you use a sample based music tool, use one sample.
if you use a VST or instrument based tool, use only one generator and go with that one.

for voting: if the entry feels like it was made out of the very limited possibilities that only one [thing] can give, its fairgame.
