i have been thinking about formats after my lyceum article where i did a deep dive into them... some categories ovbs will always have more formats than others ie chipist, but here are sum coco ideas :)
chipist
RCA CDP1802: i have no clue what to refer to this as :D there's a bunch of old microcomputers with neat little microcomputers with that CPU that can generate sound...? I used the COMX-35's VIS chip in my wildchip entry this year, and for a worse example that highlights the chip better, we have this gamejam ost i made when i was literally 16...it's effictively just a single square wave and a noise generator, so if this is too similar to fsound i can cope ! i just think it's neat, and i remembered enjoying coding the songs in BASIC :) Which on that note...
codist
BASIC: that gamejam game i did was in basic !! one of the few things i really understood coding wise :) a ton of old pcs have them ! entry could link to the machine and how to play...this could extend to calculator gamesas well !
mappist
OpenRA: free open source version of old command & conquer games...i have some maps i've made !! definitely more intuitive than lunar magic LMAO but it's a fun genre, the maps are stored locally to be shared and can be played online between botbrs if desired !!
Turbo Sliders: unfortunately i am way more versed in the sequel, which is a paid game, which i do think it's genuinely my favorite game, as i am a huge
I HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO SAY AND I'M GOING TO STOP BEING COHERENT IF I KEEP WRITING THIS !!
QUE TENGAN UNA BUENA NOCHE !! :D
