Is this ok to modify the samples of a spc XHB like you would do in a remix battle? I'm thinking about simple stuff like cutting a part of a sample or editing loop points.

yep i see no problem with that and would treat the packs in the exact same way. (they are the same pack, spoilers)

Regardless, I lowkey really like this idea, and as much as I want to submit to both of them I’ll probably need to pour my effort into this one over the remix version, since this badge will be harder to bag.

it probably goes without saying, but nobody's under any obligation to enter both, and indeed i assume most folks will "choose one". the only thing you can't do is submit the same entry to both. they'd need to be separate entities

if this goes over well, i'll amend the bitpack .txt to be more specific about this "double format" thing. remix is totally normal, SNES restricts you to a sample pack w/ no built-in noise generator (that you probably would not have used anyway)
