Hello, I have hosted/co-hosted a compilation of covers/remixes/arrangements of Christmas (and other December holiday) songs almost every year since 2005.
Last year we made it a fully open-submission thing and it was a lot of fun, and so it shall be once more.
My post about it on instagram (@almond_milks) has details, but in case you don't wanna venture over there, here's the deal:
First:
Listen to Last Year's Installment
Then:
Cover, remix, or arrange a holiday tune and send the final version (preferably mastered) to christmasasaurus@gmail.com
Include your artist name and song title EXACTLY as you want it to appear and ONE link to more of your music.
Also include a description of what songs you covered/remixed!
No originals!
Nothing you've released before!
Nothing mean spirited/offensive!
No anti-xmas/holiday type songs!
DECEMBER 20TH IS THE DEADLINE
We prefer if you refrain from releasing it on Soundcloud/etc. until after the comp goes live (and even then it's cooler if the only place to get it is on the bandcamp, but I'm not gonna stop you)
It can be a cover/remix of something insanely obscure or something as common as jingle bells and can venture into territories unknown, but this is about exploring and reinterpreting!!
Any style you wish!! This is definitely not just a chiptune or digifu comp.
Any donations made go to charity (I'm not sure where we're sending them this year, but in the past we've sent to small harm reduction groups where small donations are meaningful)
Ok, that's it. I look forward to hearing what BotB has to contribute to this series once again.
