Direct from the desk of Cass Cuttlefish :

Hello! We hope to start a wiki and forum for chiptune which is community run, and doesn't belong to any particular collective or netlabel. Please consider joining and participating in making this resource! The password for membership is "isthischiptune" and joining will let you create pages and participate in the forum.

Tentative goals are:
1. Promote connection and collaboration between different chiptune communities.
2. Consolidate information about Chiptune to enable everyone and make the medium more accessible.

i will say that this is an appreciated resource, having something to check other than the lyceum in terms of chiptune knowledge is very handy to have. if anything, this is actually a better functional wiki than the lyceum, given that it doesn't have the ability (yet) to cite pages or display images, let alone firki's inability to create easy-to-read forms for anything outside of formats. not dissing the lyceum ofc, more of an observation if anything. i'm excited to see what the community will make of this chiptune wiki; in fact i might add some pages and do some edits in the near future :3c

aaa I'm so glad this was well received! thanks for your enthusiasm and especial thanks to those of you who started adding pages and links. Please do not feel afraid to.

> lets paste the full lyceum there
honestly yeah i think there will be a lot of links to the lyceum. I think the benefit of a separate wiki would be the use of images, footnotes, and other display conveniences. Plus, I want the wiki to act as a bridge of sorts between communities and not belong to any group in particular.

@nitrofurano

I'm also a slow reader, but English characters. Even worse is the case with Japanese characters. An online translator helps me.
A lot of information on chipwiki.ru taken from foreign sources.
Language is not a fundamental problem.

English-language chiptune wiki existed before chipwiki.ru but they didn't have much support. Given my poor knowledge of English and poor support from English-speaking users, I and my comrade decided to create a Russian-language wiki. At the same time, if we were contacted, we could consider moving the site to other languages. But there were no such attempts.
We can even connect the forum module, but at the moment it is simply not necessary.
