[A note] Botb wont give you badge progress, if you havent submitted a track of your own, but are part of a collaborative effort. Therefore, its recommended ye work on two tracks, one that you can submit yourself with a collaborator, and another your collaborator can submit, with you also contributing.

not entirely true. the badge progress is given as soon as one of your own entries (one that you submitted) is going throught the tally process.
you can simply wait until you participated in the next battle and everything will be fine!

Oh yeah and most importantly: Try and find a partner before the battle starts! It's allowed! just don't start working together until it begins.

One last thing, don't forget to add collaborator to your track when its submitted.
