Chris Covell has recently posted that he's been developing a music driver for NeoGeo that is programmable using MML.

Enjoy; and give him a thanks. :D/

For fun, why don't some of you PC-xx users port some of your favorite tunes to this platform and post your examples. :X/

I've been waiting for a tool to make music for the YM2610 for a while

I'll see if I can figure out how to use it

it's like a really neat, beastly all-in-one. :)

1. FM – 4 Channels on 4 operators with LFO (the same as OPN(YM2203), DAC compatable with YM3016
2. SSG – 3 operators, compatable with YM2149 (Atari ST), 4th operator is Noise
3. L/R – Sound channels out
4. ADPCM-A – 6 channels 18.5 KHz, 16 MB Sample ROM size, 256 B min size of sample, 1 MB max
5. ADPCM-B – 1 channel 1.8-55.5 KHz, 16 MB Sample ROM size, 256 B min size of sample, 16 MB max, compatable with YM2608
6. Master clock – 8MHz

The ADPCM-B channel seems to be for high-quality drum and vocal samples..

but what is the sample depths of the PCMs?
(or does ADPCM not work like that??)

I think it's either 8 or 16bit depth

ADPCM-A doesn't seem to have any period/frequency registers... ? ATL = 6-bit volume.

ADPCM-B has frequency registers... A lot of them.

Not entirely sure about it yet... Seems like some conflicts in the documents too.

May have to ask around more to figure it out.

@Xyz: ADPCM is an encoding process. I'm not sure of the bit depth of the ADPCM samples yet but they usually decode back to 8-bit or 16 bit; just depends on the DACs they go out.
