At the moment you only seem to get a random amount of boons (it was b1.05 for me, but b0.60 for someone else). It doesn't really make sense that we only get them when rendering somebody else's songs...

well since you can (and should) render every track you make that'd just be an extra reward for submitting entries really

maybe acquiring a static number of renderist points (as opposed to gaining renderist points every time a song that you've rendered is played) would be practical, since you are still legitimately rendering something (even if it is your own work). this would give incentive to render your own files, and at the same time would not downplay the significantly larger amount of renderist points you would get for rendering another person's work.

I should have said something like this back then... the points give us incentive. The points introduce competition which BotB could use to further its MMORPG goal.

If you admins complain that you have to pick up the rendering slack, why do say that when there are trusted underlings who have the skills do to it for you, or at least a good chunk of it? And why can not they receive the same compensation if they do it well and with good faith? I think it's worth trying.

The point of renderist points is to encourage BotBrs to pick up the slack after lazy authors. The author has 24 hours to render their audio if need be. The point is not to encourage BotBrs to upload .ogg or .it to a remix/allgear battle just so they can score extra points. BotB ends up with two files every time there is a render. If you don't want people 'unfairly' getting renderist points on your work then I advise you to finish the jorb you started.

As long as others get points for rendering the entries of others, I'm good. At least I added to that argument, but that's no excuse. Sorry.

yea people complaining when others render their work is really DUMB! first of all they're doing a service for you (i believe you do get points when people listen to your songs regardless of who rendered it) and if you're too lazy to render your song yourself, i don't see why others can't render it especially since they really aren't getting much credit and you're the one still getting credit for the music. and even if you don't like your song, others probably do anyway.
