1. you can get to a valid http://battleofthebits.com/arena/Battle/3512/Samples/ page by clicking the "n bits" button in the sidebar, but if you go straight to the URL it's a 404.

2. there is a broken image link with text "" title="download sample"/>" to the left of each bit in the list.

3. Minerscale already submitted an actual entry somehow. it's included in the bit counter, but not in the bit list.

hmm, I think I know what's happening now, since I autofav'd one of my bit entries without ever playing it. it's counting a page load as a play (instead of when you actually hit the play button). the plays I saw were self-plays, thus the lack of samplist points.

Hey, not to add to any stress, but this bit entry of mine ended up giving me mixist points and being categorized as a remix. I'd hate to miss out on the actual compo just because it thinks I already submitted a remix!

It might be because I uploaded it as an uncompressed file, but since i did it through the "submit bit" form I don't know why that would matter??

hopefully puke can find the time to go into the DB and fix the miscategorized entries before the bit period ends. that's usually how this type of thing gets sorted out. there are several other entries with the same issue...

is there a way to delete it? if there is then something's even more screwed than we thought. for now i'd either just a) do nothing or b) resubmit the sample using the "correct" form. don't know whether it will be easier for puke7 to reclassify these "remixes" or just delete them. i wouldn't touch the "incorrect" form again, in case submitting multiple entries with it does something Bad.

1) couldn't figure out cold hitting the sample submit URL, but fixed it where the link was wrong

2) removed the "broken image" thing - I hate this view; should be replaced with the modern Entry List view

3) I updated all entries in this battle thus far to be samples instead of remixes

I know it looks screwy, but bits only have one vorting category -- I'm not sure why the vote form is appearing as it do, but I have very limited dev bandwidth while on vacation you n00bs!! :P

Yeah, I don't know how the whole sample thing works in regards to badges, but I didn't get any sample badge progress for any of these.

weird; i know detroit VIII samples were out of 7. maybe this was changed when badges were implemented and then changed back for the reason ktcmoop stated? detroit is full of mysteries
