I know this is a few months overdue, however:

I'd like to apologize on the behalf of my sentient 8-ball (magic 8-baller) for their salt and vitriol that was sent towards you over your Shop Themes entry.

I do not know what was their actual intention when they responded that way, but it still was in bad taste and I've reprimanded them for it.

They seem to have calmed since, and from what I've heard from a few days back, they seem to be deeply sorry and have sworn never to do that again. (hopefully so, they offered anything as means to atone too)

thanks kot lol, its no biggie. it was more funny if anything, but its good to hear an apology from someone. all i really want from them is to keep their promise to never do that again to absolutely anybody. not everyone has thick skin, and you may discourage someone with this behavior.
