I was thinking the other day about how cockroaches and crickets are practically the same thing, yet one is charged with the death penalty on sight, while the other is a symbol of good luck. Then I realized it is their attitude toward humans that makes the difference. A cockroach acts like it owns your kitchen (until you show up). A cricket, meanwhile, remains humble always.
