It's probably the kind of thing that established contributing members of the community are able to do without it coming off as a shill
that being said you can post a bulletin if you really wish
you are receiving a one month troll and scrub ailment for repeated rule breaks. in particular, "XHB submissions are anonymous until results are public" has come up several times, but there are other rules on the list too that you've indicated you're aware of breaking... and you just tried to vote without even hearing the entries, which should be an obvious no-no. respect your fellow battlers.
...so, if you weren't already aware of the rules listed on the XHB & major pages, please review them carefully before battling again, and make sure to follow them - don't give away stuff about your entry in chat before the battle is over, and avoid leaving in metadata identifying yourself. you can still enter battles with your ailments, but the troll ailment prevents you from voting.
because your attitude about rule breaks has been at times flippant and at times self-defeating, i will also add that more serious action might be taken if you continue to not follow the rules. your understanding of this is appreciated - we all have to abide by the rules whether or not we personally care about them.
i'll add this as well since i noticed it in the chat earlier
you seem to have this perception that the music that you make is not to the standards of your peers because you are not on their level. in particular, you hate the supposed pressure of winning a battle because it says that you are the greatest at a chip. you think of victory as saying that you are better than your peers. you are an amateur in a sea of professionals, so to say.
to that, i say stop for a moment. take a moment to really analyze what that says to others about you as an artist in general. what you might see as being humble, others see as devaluing work and unrightfully discounting your own growth and strength as a practitioner of an art. people see you actively being thankful for "losing" to someone you think is better and see that as being insecure of your own track and skill as a musician, wishing for a lower score.
this is a problem i notice with botbrs all around this site. i won't mention their names, but people reading this can probably guess who i'm talking about. i wanted to specifically address this with you since, gathering from our dms about different chips and the chiptune community itself, you're someone who would be and is really adept with this, and i don't want someone like you to ditch chiptune over this ailment or a perceived lack of belonging.
instead of lasering on your flaws and focusing on those, learn what to improve from those flaws, appreciate both the nice things botbrs have to say as well as the learning moments such as this one, and above all be more active. that's about as simple as i can make it. battle of the bits is a community where people come together not just to compete but to see and help others grow as people. at the end of the day, an ailment is an ailment; an entry is an entry. in 5 years time, the stain of that ailment will linger but, depending on what you do beyond that, it won't be the stain people will remember you fondly for.
i guess i'll end with another example: another botbr who was in a similar position not too long ago. they were facing down a split pathway as well, and instead of sitting down and learning the error of their ways, they continued the attitude that got them ail'd in the first place and they were, ultimately, mummi'd. and then they hosted a battle and everyone freaked the fuck out, but i digress!!
point is, it's up to you to learn from this and to learn to love yourself and your abilities as a musician and as an artist. botbrcore and healthy amounts of egocore ftw!!
