chipsynth SFC + DSP effects. kinda loosely inspired by DKC, perhaps because the synthbrass pad was the first thing i pulled up lol.

so completes my third completionist run 🥳 what a grand time it's been! busy, but definitely in a good way. it's been very exciting to watch everybody take on all these formats and bitpacks we set up... and i was really happy to be a part of planning it this year, thanks kleeder. we're poised to prooobably break the record (438 entries) by just a bit, hell yeah! cheers to everyone who joined in and especially tried something new!

advent diary day 24:
the last two years i've done retrospectives at the end about all the formats that were new to me and how i felt about them. both times before that was like, half the formats, but this year it was almost none - there were several that i'd done only once or twice, like fsound, a halfassed attempt at puredata, tia. sid... and a couple adjacently-done ones like html5 (done plenty of html) and sap (tried sapx2 before). but the only truly new one was smw/lunarmagic, which was pretty fun! i even wound up getting bit by the puredata bug in the end.

altogether i'm really happy with my entries and what i was able to accomplish most days. the sum of my advent 2023 music output adds up to 55 minutes (!) which is like, double last year, a whole-ass album, but again since i wasn't going in blind to half the formats it was a little easier to make more full-bodied tunes.

long live advent calendar! this is my favorite event of the year, i sincerely hope everyone had a great time, please vote on the entries, merry christmas and happy new year!
