heh, maybe I was actually going for post post classical neo modern noir contemporary? actually, I had recently discovered black midi, was inspired by that, and tried to make something I'd actually enjoy

This is more like that whatsit carneval thing, I don't think real black midi will work here because of the size limit... then again, someone will hopefully consider that a challenge.
