holy fucking shit!!!

first off, the whole city rising up out of the ground at the start is so cool, I've never really seen a map introduced that way!

love the difficulty balance (and that you even took easy/norm/hard into account!) it's definitely a challenge to pistol start, had to sort of cheese my way up the front steps until I could find weapons and ammo and get rolling.

I like the little shooty switch face to get the invisibility. the huge bloody red back area feels gooooood - and the winding wooden stairs that lead down to the blue key, with the checkerboard floor pattern, is giving SMW ghost house vibes.

The one little tree on the green island in the lavablood area is a fun little easter egg - not even a secret, just a fun thing you can run across!

I could go on and on, really, the ambushes are excellent, the goddamned ARCHVILE at the end, just - everything is so good. HOW DID YOU HAVE THE TIME TO DO ALL THIS???

speed run ⌛ no fuckin way - although if you run real quick you can make it to the wooden spiral stair area over on your left before the towers fully rise, grab the chaingun, then book it up to grab the invisibility, then hop down to the red key - seems like a good route to start.

I'm digging that PIPEWAL usage as a step texture, going to put that technique in my back pocket

Top notch Doom mapping, to be expected from you of course. The level design and flow is absolutely solid, and difficulty was tough but still reasonably manageable. All the little attention to detail - the lighting, the texturing, etc. - is just so nice too.

The fun surprise at the end though...naughty ;)

I won't lie I had to set it to baby difficulty to even survive lol. This is humongous though, almost like a cinematic final boss of a stage.

I just watched funute's video and I'm realizing most of the graphics look different in his version (aka less default) compared to whatever default settings I have? Is that a thing users just set up on their end for their personal enjoyment, or did I miss something with loading those? (he also seemed faster than me, but that could've just been my sheer lack of motion). This also applied to the music, since his seemed pretty cheery and mine was very dark (more fitting, in my opinion).

My god, the Verticality!! As a Doom beginner, I am in awe of your ability to make a level that feels so vertical and 3D. Really feels like climbing a tower with lots of complex layers. The spiral staircases are really nice too.

Enemies and items are well placed, a good challenge that's not too easy nor too spammy.

Super good map!!

The full design of this is pretty crazy. Watching the castle-esque structure emerge out of the ground, we know we're in for a treat from the start. Sheesh
