A connection back to your own musical roots, that's awesome. I love the emotion in this.
like a wingspan but for roots

this is a retooling of a piece i wrote in college circa 2011 for real humans to perform, which has never seen the light of day other than in a couple poorly-attended recitals way back then. even though i've made a lot of music since then (understatement), it's still one of my favorite things i have written, and something about this sample pack made me think about it and realize its structure would take well to this format. lots of fun channel volume switches and pattern loops here : )
the original was for voice and piano (and this was the 2nd of 4 movements), with text from my favorite book House of Leaves. although i got to meet the author a couple times and gave him the score + a recording both times, he never contacted me afterward, so i never felt comfortable releasing it without his blessing. now the tune is finally divorced from its original material, and i have reclaimed it! welcome back "rootspan.it"
