A S THE SNOW SURROUNDED THEM, SIR ELIAS Mannfread of the expedition took to his entourage. At the centre, his Captain, Lord Wesleybrook, ordered them to flee into the nearest townne, whereas they may stave off the rambunctious conditions outdoors. It was then that he reported of their findings. An excerpt from said report, found a might of miles outwards of the cavern, reads as the following.
"T'was then that we saw the most insatiably curious finding. A circular rink of ice, perfectly frozen still and unobstructed as if it were His Holiness's divine Rite. Surrounding such was a smattering of cottages. Their presence were as warm to the eyesight and to the touch of our hands as were the presence of our homes, yonder in the pastures. In the center towered upon the city a massive stature of marble; a lady fair and grand enough to rival if not top the Lord. Upon it read ' MOTHER EARTH '.
"The Captain does not wish for departure. Neither does the expedition. It seems as if we had discovered upon this oblique wastefield a prairie of true peace and warmth."
The Duke of Charlesford, when intervened and questioned upon which his usual sporting games are played, expressed in the newfound village a sheer exuberance of enthusiastic splendor. He, calling it ' Mother Earth's Ice Rink ', displayed grand desire to visit it within the forthcoming weeks.
