Not just you, it got changed in Vice 3.4: "new noise LFSR as reverse engineered by Lance Ewing." Seems to be more true to actual hardware from what I can tell.

I totally was not going to do a VIC-20 entry, but here it is anyway.
Also, is it just me, or did VICE change how it handles the noise channel emulation?
