made in a few hours, using audacity, openMPT and a bunch of curiosity & experimentation
image was saved to bitmap and then imported as raw data into audacity with some of the various useful encodings available
cut some garbly clicks, peaks and noise at the beginning (assuming it was the file header or smth), normalize, dc offset, anything else was left untouched
the result was some samples with nice waves
some of them were hissy, some of them had clicks & so on & so on.. it's all gonna be tape & rain
funny thing with every encoding it was tuned to Gb +23ct, except pcm 24bit, where teh tuner reads the fifth Db +25ct
whatever doodly-do then i tried myself at some lunacore, rendered all of them as 8bit samples and got the drone going and this is what happened, dood
since i was torn between mod64k and s3xmodit while tinkering... of the 19 samples extracted from the image only three remain, but each of them "contains the whole image", so to speak - eventually didn't want to downsample and went for s3xmodit
also made some single-cycle waveforms from all 19 samples that haven't been used and sound awesome
