You heard it here first, folks - it's another smash hit for our man Charlie "The Pope's Nose" Roberts (ASCAP), the self-proclaimed master of early machine music, to kick off Side B of his popular 1983 record A Very Beeper Christmas (released on Warner Bros - that's us)! Initially we were concerned about the atypical choice of dropping the needle on a ballad, particularly one so vanishingly popular as a nonexistent crooner standard of the 1950's - but once we heard those soothing hi-fi ZX Spectrum beeps and boops, we knew this was the right decision. ZX is just too fun, i love it! in the spirit of "being an arrangement of a made-up ballad" i wrote it first by singing (lyrics only partially fleshed out, lots of the title + "my dear" in the back half) and playing the piano and then re-arranged it for fluidcore engine w/ irrlicht project's .xm converter. recorded .tap from Fuse
