Will's Party at the Helm

Hello there. I see you have found our little dance party up here at the helm. The only rule is: don't steer the ship off course.

The Wilhelm sample was chopped and looped. I also made a second variation by severely reducing its quality, and also distorted that one as well.

To help me with organization, I decided to assign channels 32 and up to the TR-808 samples. Here are the assignments (I'm not 100% familiar to the real TR-808, but I never use a note other than C5, the default pitch... plus, I think each percussive sound should have its own channel, if I were to trust the specifications...):

Bass Drum ~ Channel 32
Snare Drum ~ Channel 33
Open Hi-Hat ~ Channel 34
Mid Conga ~ Channel 35
Hi Tom ~ Channel 36
Cymbal ~ Channel 37
Mid Tom ~ Channel 38
Clap ~ Channel 39
Cowbell ~ Channel 40
Close Hi-Hat ~ Channel 41

For the bass drum, I did use several samples with a loop point attached in order to trigger the sample extremely quickly to produce a bass melodic sound later on in the song. To me, it's better than using the retrigger effect on my tracker, which doesn't quite have that element of control. :)

I really enjoy those space sweep chords =o
without the beats they would work fantastic for something displaying images of nebulas!
