something about the sax doing arp runs makes a lot of sense. whether it could do them that quickly for the longer runs is another thing. great overall and seems like your driver compliments your style well

It's not my driver. It's Undisbeliever's. Though I did contribute somewhat, more on the conceptual side of things than the actual code, in addition to being one of the earliest users of the sound driver other than the developer himself (since v0.0.2ish: I failed to compile the original release, but it was repaired as the first commit afterwards, and my first song that I submitted to the site used v0.0.3). It was originally 6 music channels with two SFX channels: now it's 8 music channels with 2 SFX that can overlap the last two channels.

fuck yeah! i love the chord synths, and the main motif doesn't get boring since you feed it with nice and diverse sections throughout the song.

Wow, what a result! This is my best performing entry in a long, long time... as in, it dethrones the previous king, Super Mini Symphony, from Summer Chip II (which came in 3rd out of 103... it may not sound like much, but when I convert this into a fraction, 7/260 is smaller than 3/103). The lack of medals is not a factor, and it's also not the highest scoring major entry of mine (that one's Blast Off To The Stars and Beyond from Winter Chip VIII... and came in 13th out of 204). It didn't quite get me to level 28, but it'll only be a matter of time from this post. As for why I didn't level up earlier? Well... look at how infrequently I make entries for Battle of the Bits! This is my one entry that I made for 2024!

On further analysis, not counting the video entry that came in 2nd combining music and video, this is the 4th-highest ranked music entry of the entire compo, only being outranked by three OPL2 entries... in Furnace Tracker. Well, then again, good 'ole Furnace Tracker with all of those chips at your fingertips.
