A conversion of one of my old NES songs for testing purposes. It sounds best on real hardware. The mp3 was recorded directly from my SNES.

Some terrific sounds going on and pleased to hear echo usage. I'm not sure about some of the volumes of stuff, takes me aback in places.

Thanks. I didn't notice any major volume discrepancies. Are you referring to parts of the song where echo volume, master volume and the filter coefficients change or are you referring to the volume level of specific instruments? Were you listening to the mp3 or the SPC? I've noticed some SPC players do not play this back properly.

This sounds lovely, and the usage of all the SNES features is very well done. Lovely track!

As an aside, I'm also wondering how you record from your SNES, since that's something I'd eventually like to do.

at 28s, 49s and 1m26s there seems to be unexpected volume spikes. Could be to do with instrument volume?

@Harumi: Thanks, it's just a silly song from long ago but it didn't have many commands used so there was plenty of room to try out new SNESMod commands. As for recording, it's just the RCA cables from the SNES to my sound card.

@gotoandplay: The times you refer to are filter sweeps (to bandpass filter), this along with the echo volume and feedback are making volume spikes. It shouldn't be that loud though. The mp3 is how it sounds on real hardware and SNES9x, Higan, No$Sns, AudioOverload and SPCTool2 all play the song back without volume spikes (although the echo is a bit more noticeable on SPCTool2 at the times you mention.)

What program are you using to playback the song?

Great fx and samples, but can't really say I like the composition

There's bits of this I really like and the sound quality for the samples and effects is excellent. I think the track itself might... meander and interrupt the expected results to a point where I'm not sure how to feel about the track, but there's a good amount of cool stuff in here. It's pretty neat.
