What chip does PC Engine have? Reminds me of AY, but nowadays one never knows.

Cool man I like that this has your dungeon style music, but with a bit more upbeat feel to it. I especially like the changing rhythm after the intro sections.

@Yerzmyey : the chip is called "HuC6280A", and it is both the CPU and the sound processor, a all-in-one chip in the same way as the gameboy.

It's a PSG square waves generator, similar to the AY (minus the envelope which can be found on AY), but with 6 channels and some sample capabilities. I'm using it in a very simple way, like for most of my tunes, but there are very "advanced" musics for this chip (given the fact it's a simple 8-bit chip).

@garvalf/yerzmyey: a bit different than that. 6 channels of 32 5-bit sample wavetable synthesis; with alternative possible DAC mode on each. has a noise generator on one channel, and LFO on another for crude FM. not really like the AY/YM.

This is wonderful! Some great counterpoint and tempo changes, great job!

The variety with the melody line and tempo is good and I get what you're going for, I just feel like adding in a bit of key changes here and there would generate more tension.
