i meant to click UP MP3 and i self-liked instead. epic.
*THE SONG*
While I gravitate heavily towards funk, grooves, new jack, and a lot of that stuff, my original foray into FM was centered around rock, so I've wanted to do something classically blues-like for a while.
The idea is that the first portion is featured during the boss's arrival, self-aggrandizing statements, and the build-up for the fight to come, while part two would be once the battle actually starts. Would love to flesh out part two more into a Van Halen kind of deal, but not in the cards today.
*THE CHIP*
Actually just used one chip, the OPNB2, which feels criminally underrated: it has the 6 FM channels like the YM2612, plus three square channels like the SN7 provides, and then it has the sample channels to build your own drumkit over the YM2608's really flimsy one, plus an ADPCM-B channel. It really can do it all.
Only downside is having to adjust every sample to 18.5khz, but luckily Furnace's sample editor is pretty easy to work with. Anyway, thanks for listening!
