now, here's the thing. I SUCK at making covers... a lot. I struggle transcribing something into a tracker.

And because of that, the track is a short loop. I REALLY wanted to cover this so badly, since the original sounds really cool :(

(If anyone has some tips, I'd really appreciate it, thx :D)

short loops are fine and good actually imo! my first tip, to paraphrase another's advice from a while back, is that if you say something is bad, then the listener is going to assume it *is* bad before they've had a chance to hear it.

as for this cover, i appreciate what you're doing with the 2A03 waves and the noise channel, but given this is the fami+ format, i'd consider using those expansion chips and some DPCM to get more out of the timbres and percussion available through those. for transcription itself, that's one of those realms where the practical "aural skills" side of music theory comes in clutch. training to recognize intervals is huge, and there are lots of websites out there for interval training and chord quality identification drills.

in conclusion, i like what you got and would love to hear more!

Me too! I love the idea of a cover, but the work of actually transcribing is so tiring! I'm pretty good at identifying notes, but I'm still learning how to decipher each note in a chord.

It helps a lot if the song you're covering is a tracker module that you can download and take a peek at to see how the original was made, although that's not the case here.

There's still a good few months left in decadent decade, so if you're not satisfied with your work yet, there's still plenty of time to keep working at it.
