@Tobi It's the syncbuzzer effect, it's been around for years but I guess only on the ST platform. Credits go to Tao IIRC for coding it and using it first, and to Gwem for implementing it in maxYMiser. Basically the CPU is resetting the waveform at audible rates so you get correct-ish pitch much higher. Interestingly if you lower the freq of the envelope but keep the reset frequency the same, you'll reduce the amplitude of the envelope! There are many things to explore with this technique, even more so now that FM can be applied to it as well.
