This version of the track uses my fictional sound chip, the JC-1291. You can listen to the original version at https://soundcloud.com/harmodevil/rainbow-colored-sky, which is obviously superior to this version.
The JC-1291 has:
*16 PCM channels (8-bit/16-bit PCM)
*512kb sound RAM
*44100hz sample rate
I had fun making this conversion. I had to sample the instruments at lower sample rates (ranging from 16000hz to 32000hz), then make soundfonts for them. It was kinda fun to try and cram the track into 16 channels (with no polyphony); I only ended up having to omit one of the synths! I believe the process of creating this sequenced version is similar to how composers created sequenced music for games in the 90s and 00s.
