Interpolation recommended!

2 tracks from the (rebooted) BLEAK album! The idea being that this is two levels of a space shooter that happen back to back. This space shooter does not actually exist, it is merely the music intended to play during it, in album form.

The first is for "Trash Zone", a region outside of the SpacEstates mega space-station. It's designated as the trash dump for this capitalistic hell in the middle of space; or it was, until you blew up what remained, infested by alien parasites cultivated by the Klaxon, in the previous level. In the context of the game, this is the first area to fall to the Klaxon Empire, which is this sort of intelligent bug-like alien race that has invaded nearly every human civilization in space.

The second is the beginning of the end! The final section of the game is centered around giant sun that has no planets orbiting it; only a couple space stations you dock at every checkpoint which have been cloaked and have cut off traffic in and out as much as possible since the invasion initially began. It's a near-wasteland split into 5 light levels based on how close you are to the sun. Lumifluidity is the last before reaching the Klaxon Queen's Armada stationed at the edge of the known universe; the dusk zone, where the light refracts in odd, inexplicable ways akin to the northern lights. The full list of zones for this segment is as follows:
Dawn Zone (you are here)
Daylight Zone
High Noon Zone
Dusk Zone (MUSIC: Lumifluidity)
Night Zone (Klaxon Queen is here)

-------------------------------------
So why did I say "(rebooted) BLEAK album"?

This was originally for a game suffering from a hefty, heaping helping of scope creep. When I started [REDACTED MPTM PROJECT], I realized some of the songs that were for incredibly shoehorned open-world survival gameplay fit the more ambient feel of [REDACTED MPTM PROJECT]. It's not finished yet, so I don't want to share details as it's intended to be one big experience! Just know that some tracks have been repurposed from the BLEAK album demo that was submitted to Summer Chip XIII. So you won't find "Jungles of Mars" and "Ambush" on the full BLEAK release anymore.

(Apparently I mixed up this and another multi-song track I submitted to Infloresce & Friends: Charity Festival. Embarrassing! The description has been corrected to reflect this realization...)

i like how sparse the first half or so is - feels really nice to just be able to kick back and focus on the drums and the occasional little stab. the fuller section is nice too, although i might contend that the vocal oneshots and lead parts are a bit too loud (especially the ones where she sings high, they are really loud lol) and stick out as a result when the rest of the song is kinda just about chilling and vibing to the overall feel

agree with dami on the sparseness (being good), i think a lot of people forget that if you are going to have less texture in a part that you have to have those one/two textures do something very interesting, and those bits in this track are definitely interesting

Can anyone spot the musical quote in the first half?

Oh and to @damifortune / @gotoandplay: if you like the sparseness of that track, check out the one that inspired it:
